Subject: No sharing the spotlight. We are already famous.

We thought you said that this project is all about Super Foods. You said we would be showcased, so where does that pineapple with that green brush top come in? Did you ever check out their bumpy skin? How could they be in the super foods group? I see them in the walk-in box talking to themselves. Look at our long red stems with broad leaves which when cooked contain lutein that is good for the eyes. We are important to the body and do not want to share the spot light with the pineapple or anyone else. To put beets on an upside down cake was the last straw. Including us to be showcase with the pineapple is really too up close and personal.

We tolerate the other Super Foods because they are respectful. Marge the Tomato says, “Hi, I am known worldwide. I am low in calories, contain Vitamins A, B, C and also Lycopene which protect the body from certain cancers”. We say, “Tomatoes are healthy but the pineapple, what good are they?” Bill the Avocado greets us with, “Having a GRAATE day friends”. They contain Vitamin B6 which is necessary for fat and protein metabolism to occur in the body. Potassium is found in avocadoes which help to control water balance in the body’s tissues and cells. Potassium also regulates blood pressure…. I need a piece of avocado right now. My pressure is SOOOO high because of you know who. Mary-Lou Broccoli has even shared her secret recipe for a creamy dip. She then gave her phone number and invited us to a barbecue. Now Mary-Lou is important. She and her cousins belong to an elite group called, Cruciferous Vegetables. They help fight cancer, supply the body with Vitamin C, Potassium, Calcium and other nutrients. Go Mary-Lou go!!!!!!

Gus Orange, Lenny the Salmon, and Genni the Onion bring SOOOO much laughter to the entire walk in box. Love them!!! Oranges, as you know contain Vitamin C and protects the body against colds. The salmon is rich in Omega-3 fatty acids which help to prevent heart disease. Gus, my heart aches over this situation with the pineapples. OOOH!!!! Genni, the Onion, belongs to a family called the alliums. Her first cousin is Jim Garlic and they are always in the walk-in box on the lower shelf in the corner. Onion and garlic provide flavor to dishes and contain no sodium. They are included in soups, stocks, sauces, other dishes and are also known worldwide. Everyone in this walk-in box is healthy. Some are FRUITY or VEGILICIOUS, HERBIE and others are quite FISHY, but we all get along. The odd ball is the pineapple. Where do they come from? Not our side of town, we say.

For us beets who are red, nutritious and always friendly, we are upset and want our side to be heard.
